When it comes to preschool shows, for the most part, I let my 4 year old daughter be the judge. After watching a few episodes of Peppa Pig she was hooked! She even made sure to show her older brother the shows after he got home from school, who also liked it.
Don’t know what or even who Peppa Pig is? I didn’t either…that is until we were pointed in the right direction and able to watch some Peppa Pig episodes ourselves!dv Peppa Pig has been a favorite with British children in the U.K. and is an award-winning animated series for preschool aged children. It arrived in the U.S.A. in 2011. The show follows Peppa, “a loveable, energetic little piggy,” through her daily adventures. She lives with her brother George, Mommy Pig and Daddy Pig who often join her in these adventures.
What I like a lot about this show is that it “celebrates the values of family, friendship, fun and humor.” It is just plain good entertainment and always seems to end happily, which I feel is how preschool shows should be! =-) I also love that the episodes are about 5 minutes long, which is perfect for a quick distraction or reward. If your child is like mine, it is hard to pull them away from a show in the middle or only let them watch a few minutes. I love quick episodes!
I find my daughter talking about Peppa and George daily, especially when she is off playing in her room by herself or with her brother. Gotta love good quality TV and it makes me kind of wish we had Nick Jr so we could watch more! To view the Peppa Pig series….
You can view Peppa Pig on TV 7 days a week on Nick Jr, Monday – Friday at 12 PM and 12:20 PM and Saturday/Sunday 2 PM and 2:30 PM.
