Mustache Valentine’s Day Cards

Mustache Valentines Day Treats

This year we are actually getting our Valentine’s Day cards ready before Valentine’s Day! I like my kiddos to be involved in making their Valentine’s and I usually try to encourage something non-sugar attached to it, but this year they really wanted to give a treat. So, thanks to my mom for the idea we made it a fun treat!  I think they turned out pretty dang cute!

Here is the fun…

Here is the card….

What You Need:

  • Paper for the card – we just happened to have red
  • Black or brown paper for the mustaches
  • Suckers
  • Scissors
  • Razor blade or knife
  • Tape
  • Glue gun

Directions:

Step 1: Cut out mustaches using a template to trace them or some sort of paper cutting machine. I found a really nice lady near me who was able to cut them out for me using her Sillouette.

Step 2: Hot glue mustaches to suckers. A tiny dab works great and helps them last longer, so they can play with them.

Step 3: Print out your cards with your mustache phrase. We used “i “mus-tache” you to be my valentine!” I made the “must-ache” a lot smaller to fit under the sucker. You can kind of see it in the picture.

Step 4: Cut a slit in the paper using your razor blade or knife. about the length of  our smaller “mustache” worked great…so about an inch long. I actually just used our kitchen knife because I misplaced my razor blade! Ghetto? Mabye, but it worked! lol

Step 5: Stick sucker mustaches through slit and secure on the back with tape.

Step 6: Enjoy!!! Easy enough that my kiddos can help me stuff and tape (older kiddos can use the glue gun). If you want to get fancy, you can make the card into a heart or circle or use some fun scissors to edge it. Whatever you do, have fun!

I seriously love this picture!

April Fools Day Pranks for Kids- Googly Eye Crazy!

My friend gave me this idea for a fun and clean April 1st prank to play on the kids. I am going to put Googly Eyes on all the food in the fridge. If I get super creative, I’ll add the beards and mustaches, too.  I think the kiddos will really get a good giggle out of it!

Because it is not April 1st, yet, I do not have a picture of my soon to be prank, so I had to make do using a little Picnik magic.  ;-) You get the general idea! I will share a picture of the real even after April 1st.  Have fun with this!!!

Valentine’s Day Cards from Cute Homemade Crayons

Valentine’s Day is approaching and for some reason after Halloween and Christmas I am just tired of sweets. So, last year we made some homemade crayons into the shapes of hearts, dinosaurs, fish and Turtles to pass out to friends and classmates.

Of course, we could not just hand out crayons without cards and so we created some to go with the crayons.  The end result? Some super cute cards with fun sayings on them like, “I like stomping around with you!”

Once we made the homemade crayons, we used sponges to create a shape to stamp on the kiddos cards with some paint. We picked a paper T-Rex foot print to create the stamp for my son’s dinosaur crayons and a fish cookie cutter to create the stamp for my daughter’s fish & turtle crayons.

They loved stamping these on the cards!

We also happened to have some chocolates, so we added those in, too, for her little friends. Her card says “U R A Fin-tastic Friend!” Both kiddos were so excited to have something to share!
