Hi, Debra here! Michelle asked my family to do a review on the movie “A Turtle’s Tale” and we jumped at the chance. I was a little surprised that she asked us to do one again because we gave a not-so-kind review to the first movie she asked us to review. The second movie she asked us to review was promptly broken in half by an over-zealous 2 year-old that decided she’d try to set up a private viewing for herself.
I thought for sure that our chances of doing another review for Fun On a Dime were over, but lo and behold, we were given another chance. I am so glad we were, too.

A Turtle’s Tale: Sammy’s Adventures was really enjoyable to watch. The animation was just as good as any of the major studios and the music was catchy and not at all cheap-sounding or corny. The story is the telling of the life of a little turtle from the day of his hatching in 1959 up to the present day. He faces so many dangers and perils in his life, most of which are man-made. The lives of the creatures he meets on his journey to travel around the depths of the ocean are affected by the choices man is making on the surface of the earth.
It is a story of friendship, true-love, sticking together, and protecting the earth, but it is not in any way preachy or over-bearing in that message. My kids were enthralled through the whole thing, even my crazy 2 year-old and two teen-agers. The first thing they did when they woke the next morning after watching it was to ask to watch it again. And I was happy to let them! It was refreshing to see a kids’ movie that didn’t have any ”adult humor” (as if that would sell a kids’ movie) snuck into it. It was purely fun to watch!
It comes out on DVD on Jan. 3rd and I totally think it is worth buying! A Turtles Tale: Sammy’s Adventures is also available itunes.
I have 1 copy of A Turtle’s Tale: Sammy’s Adventures for one lucky Fun On a Dime reader to share with their family!
