Favorites From Last Week…

Here are a few of the top favorites from the past couple of weeks! (I promise I am going to do better with my round ups!) How do you feel about me high lighting them on facebook instead?

 

Naptime Creations had some fun making an Anthro inspired shower curtain.

 

 

Life on Walnut Street made a $7 DIY Wreath for some of her Fall decor.

 

 

Amy did let her son do some pumpkin painting! She discovered mini pumpkins + paint = 1 happy kiddo!

 

 

Halloween must be in the air because Mommy Said So’s Pumpkin Totem Pole was very popular.

 

 

Check out what Alderberry Hill made out of some scrap wood. This Halloween Sign Post is pretty cute!

Candy Lei and Friday Brag Fest 5.5

Exciting news for our family this weekend… My husband is finished with school and will be walking! We will have a house full of family in town and are excited to spend the weekend celebrating. So in honor of the weekend we made some Candy Lei(s) that the kiddos can give their daddy after he walks.   

 

 We filled them with Snickers, Hugs, Almond Joys and Paydays. All words we thought were fitting for the occasion right now. Hopefully he does not see this post before Saturday!

Full Circle Easter Dress & Friday Brag Fest 4/29

I spent all of my time last week making this little beauty of a dress!

I am pretty proud of myself! My daughter had some fabric picked out a bit ago, so I searched for a pattern. I fell in love with the Full Circle Dress and got it for practically free thanks to my Amazon gift cards earned through Swagbucks. Even better! When I got the book of patterns I discovered this dress asked for 4 1/2 yards of fabric!! And that is why this dress took me all week, but totally worth it when I saw how excited she was to wear it. :-)

…and I am pretty sure this is the reason she likes it the most!

Toothpick Creations and Friday Brag Fest 4/15

We had a fun Saturday “Rainy Day” activity. It was actually snowing! My original intention was to make these Food Castles again, but use mini pie crusts or muffins instead of a cup. But my son had other ideas! So we pulled out the toothpicks and went to town with the fun colored marshmallows. It kept them occupied for almost an hour!

My daughter made a Castle and my son made a Sailboat.

At first they were a little frustrated while trying to figure out how to connect everything. I learned that I needed to back off and let them be creative and they did much better (not complaining or asking for my help). I will have to pull the toothpicks and marshmallows out after they go to bed one of these nights and make my own creation. It definitely looked like fun!

My main focus this week has been working on the Slim Down For Summer Fitness Challenge and trying to get my family to do some of the stuff like drink more water and do some exercising…so far, it is a work in progress. lol But, they are excited about it and that’s all that counts, right?
